Round breasts
Non-padded are usually your best fit.
Many manufacturers utilize round breasts when creating their new styles. Round breasts are evenly full at the top, bottom and sides, coming to a slight point at the nipple. If you have round breasts, most bra shapes will work for you and as you’ll have little need for additional structure or shaping, you can opt for seamless and thin, non-padded styles without any issues.
East West breasts
T-shirt and side-support bras are best suited to you.
An East-West shape indicates that your breasts tend to point outward, away from the centre of your chest. This often results in nipples that face outward and a noticeable gap in the middle due to the bust volume sitting further apart. To enhance this shape, t-shirt bras are ideal for creating a rounded look, while side support bras can help pull your breasts forward, giving a more centred silhouette.
Side set breasts
Full-cup and plunge bras are your best friend.
Side-set breasts resemble East-West breasts but have a key distinction. Generally, side-set breasts are more evenly shaped and less prone to pointing outward, resulting in a wider gap at the cleavage area. This larger space often allows for a better fit in styles with a taller centre gore, such as full cup bras, as there’s ample room for the bra to sit flush against your sternum. If you have side-set breasts and are looking to enhance your cleavage, a plunge bra is an excellent option to help lift and canter your bust.
Tear Drop breasts
Balcony and half-cup bras are recommended for you.
Tear drop-shaped breasts are fuller at the bottom and slightly less so at the top, resulting in a tear drop silhouette. If you have this breast shape, you can wear a variety of bra styles, as they typically fit well in different cup shapes. For enhancing cleavage, a balcony or half cup bra is recommended, as these styles lift your bust from the fullest part at the bottom, creating a beautifully rounded look.
Slender breasts
Padded bras will normally be your best fit.
Slender breasts are typically fuller at the bottom and longer than they are wide. With this shape, you might notice that your nipples point downward or sit lower, and that the breast tissue doesn’t extend much beyond the breast root. To enhance slender breasts, a padded bra with a thin foam lining is ideal, as it adds volume and provides a boost for a fuller appearance.
Bell shape breasts
Full-cup or balcony styles will suit your shape best.
While bell-shaped breasts share similarities with slender breasts, they are generally more pendulous. This shape tends to be heavier, with much of the fullness located below the breast root. Support is essential for bell-shaped breasts, so opt for bras with more structure, such as full cup or balcony styles, which often feature additional lining in the bottom cups for added lift. It’s best to steer clear of seamless bras, as they usually provide less support compared to those with seamed cups.
Asymmetric breasts
Stretch lace top cups, t-shirt bras and bra fillers can make a huge difference.
Most people have one breast that is slightly larger or fuller than the other, usually by less than a cup size, so it’s not very noticeable. However, if you find that the difference is a cup size or more, your breast shape may be asymmetric.
If this describes you, consider choosing styles with a stretch lace top cup, as they can flex and adapt to your shape comfortably. T-shirt bras can also be effective; their structured design helps conceal any gaps on the smaller side under clothing. Additionally, you can use padded or gel inserts in the cup of the smaller breast to help balance the appearance.
Always remember to size your bras to fit your larger breast to avoid causing discomfort or damage from wires that are too small on the bigger side.
